Beyond Walls step 21 | VILNIUS

For the creation of the 21st step in his Beyond Walls series—an ongoing global project initiated in 2019 in Paris—Saype chose Vilnius. The gigantic Beyond Walls hands were created at the foot of the legendary Gediminas Tower. This site, rich in history and symbolism, was once the starting point of the Baltic Way, where 2 million people united on August 23, 1989, to form the largest human chain in history.
This artwork reminds us that human solidarity is not a concept frozen in the past but a living bond that transcends eras and continues to shape our present.
