WHAT IS BEYOND WALLS ?
Beyond Walls is a monumental land art project created by French-Swiss artist Saype. It consists of giant intertwined hands painted on the ground symbolizing the longest human chain in the world, step-by-step, city-by-city.
Beyond Walls is a quiet but radical proposition: that what we share as human beings is greater than what divides us. The work carries no slogan, no flag, no agenda. It is an open invitation to pause, to look, and to remember that we are linked.

HOW IS IT MADE ?
Each Beyond Walls mural is created directly on grass (or sand, snow) using a fully biodegradable paint made from natural pigments such as charcoal and chalk.
Saype transforms thousands of square feet of landscape into a monumental work of art visible from the sky. What appears impossible from the ground suddenly comes to life from above: two giant hands reaching across borders, cultures and generations.
Designed to exist in harmony with nature, every mural is temporary by choice. As the grass grows back, the artwork slowly fades away, leaving no permanent trace on the environment.

MINNEAPOLIS EXPERIENCE

Free and open to all.

THE HUMAN CHAIN
Join us on June 5–6 at Boom Island Park for the final photo experience surrounding Saype’s monumental artwork. Together, the public will form a human chain around the fresco, becoming part of the artwork itself. More than a gathering, this shared moment is an invitation to connect, meet, and celebrate the strength of community through art.

SUPPORT THE PROJECT
The Minneapolis chapter of Beyond Walls is entirely financed by the artist, a model that allows him to preserve his full creative independence. To help make this project possible, a limited edition series will be released.
PRINT EDITIONS
These editions play an essential role in supporting the creation and presentation of the Minneapolis installation while allowing this monumental artwork to remain freely accessible to all. Each print preserves a lasting memory of this unique moment while contributing directly to the artistic vision that made it possible.
